Question:
How do I combat the depression and hunger pangs I have started to get daily??
I feel like a failure..I am 6 weeks postop...battling an infection that landed me in the hospital for an additional 4 days..the diabetes is still kicking me in the butt..and I am confused...confused that I see people that have had a VBG have different diet plans than mine...I am only allowed to eat 2 times a day...ever...anything else has to be calorie free....I try to space it out but the hunger pangs are fierce...I failed one day...and I thought I have totally destroyed all my previous efforts..when I eat I feel full...but that feeling goes away in a few hours and have to wait to eat longer than that...if anyone has any suggestions...please gat back to [email protected] — Mona S. Mona,
Eating twice a day seems a little rigid. I remember info being published
that states that the best results are in people who eat 3x/day with a walk
in
the morning.

I know how you feel Mona. I had my surgery on July 12th then had to have a
second surgery for a bowel obstruction THEN got an infection in the
incision on top of it all. I am also depressed and HUNGRY. I am eating
soft stuff but have real cravings. I am just counting the days till I feel
better. Sorry I have no advice for you, just wanted to let you know that
you are not alone.

Hang in there, hunger pains go away in a few months. The ones you are
feeling are emotiional, not physical. I had the same problem, but was
assured by my surgeon that they were temporary, and they were. Good Luck.
