Question:
has anyone had a severe reaction to fosomax?
I was diagnoised with osterpenia. Was told to take Fosomax. Followed directions to a tea, Saturday morning. By that afternoon I started feeling achey. By Monday morning I was crying, the pain was so intense. It was like having the worst stiff neck in the world but it was my whole body. It hurt to take a deep breath. Went to the doctor and he said he didn't know what to do. It is now Weds and it is slowly getting better. The pain is slowly subsiding. Was wondering if anyone else has had such a reaction and do you do to build up your bones? Thanks-Sandy — sandii54 (posted on September 14, 2005)

I take Actonel because it is more GI friendly. Have you called the mfr to
see if your reaction is in the fine print?

Hi,
I am not sure what fosomax is for, so I am not sure what
to tell you, but, your Doctor must have another Med you can take if this
has given you a reaction like this. We are not
able to take just anything do to our new pouch's/ So if you have that much
trouble with it tell, him to change what you are taking A.S.A.P. Hope you
feel better soon.

I just started tqaking fosamax for Oetopenia this month. I take the liquid
form once a week. I haven't had any problems like that so far. I know you
must sit or stand for a half hour after taking it on an empty stomach and
not to eat for 30 minutes either. I do drink a lot of water with it also.
It does say to drink lots of water.
I asked my Doctor for the liquid form as the pill is too hard on my stomach
as it sits there for a while. I hope this is not from the fosomax as I have
avoided taking it for years as it was too hard on the pouch. I would
definitley call the pharmacist that you got it from and ask if this is a
possibloe side affect. I just hope I don't end up with a problem as today
was only my 3rd dose.
Keep me updated if you can. Bobbi 322/132/148 Proximal RNY 150 cm. Lap
