Question:
Low Magnesium Levels?
My doctor sent me a notice, some 5 weeks after my blood work was completed, that my Magnesium levels were low. I am not quite sure what that indicates for me. There was something on there about having "nerve issues." I don't know much about it and don't have another appointment until my year anniversary on Sept 18th. I am currently at 234 - down from 377. Ten months and minus 143lbs. Wow! It stuns me to put it into words!! Thanks in advance for any help!!! Colleen — colleen B. (posted on July 19, 2004)

Get thee to your doctor, Colleen! My mother was suffering from very low
magnesium levels and was told she needed to immediately receive a magnesium
shot, as magnesium is crucial to about a zillion body functions. According
to a website addressing magnesium deficiency, "Even a mild deficiency
causes sensitivity to noise, nervousness, irritability, mental depression,
confusion, twitching, trembling, apprehension, insomnia, muscle weakness
and cramps in the toes, feet, legs, or fingers." Definitely something
to take seriously. Good luck, Colleen! And congratulations on your
amazing success! XOXO Jen
