Question:
Has anyone had nerve problems after bypass?
I had gastric bypass 3 years ago and for about 2 1/2 years I have had bad headaches and extreme neck and shoulder pain.I have been on many meds with no help, recently I was told I am low on B-12 and this could be causing nerve damage and started doing injections.Has anyone had nerve problems since bypass and gotten help, how long does it take to get B-12 to normal levels? thanks — Vel K. Unfortunately, B12 shortage is guaranteed (along with iron & calcium)
without proper supplementation from the beginning. Most damage is not
reversible, but some might be, depending on where you are, how long you've
been down. Have you had your B-1 levels checked? I do B12 weekly (for some
other reasons, as well) and hold nice levels. I surely would not hold these
levels on monthly! It's different for every person, but surely they will
do weekly til they get you up into the 600-800 range and then you can work
out the frequency that holds you there?

Please get your B1 lvels checked? B1 is thaimine, and can also cause neuro
damage. Then after it's checked, start taking a good B 100 Complex, in
addition to your B12 shots or sublinguals.
Don't take a chance on further damage . . . your brain is way too valuable
to waste!
Good luck to you!
