Question:
Has anyone gone through an appeal hearing with their insurance company?

I am on my 3rd and final appeal with BC/BS of IL. My lawyer is requesting a hearing with the appeal committee. I am assuming it will be a telephone conference??? Has anyone gone through this? I have no idea what to expect or what to say.    — Kara J. (posted on March 16, 2004)

Maybe you'll get lucky...I went through a year long battle with Cigna and it finally came down to a conference call with the appeals committee. I phoned into the call coordinator that morning to let her know that on my end would be myself, my pcp, my dietician, and my surgeon's nurse. Twenty minutes later the call coordinator phoned back to tell me I was approved. I never had to go through with the call. Who knows why...but I didn't care, I was approved. They followed up with a letter one week later. So, you never know...maybe you'll get lucky too. Teri Frye
