Has anyone gone through an appeal hearing with their insurance company?

I am on my 3rd and final appeal with BC/BS of IL. My lawyer is requesting a hearing with the appeal committee. I am assuming it will be a telephone conference??? Has anyone gone through this? I have no idea what to expect or what to say.
