Question:
Why don't they make salty protein supplements?
I had my surgery several weeks ago, and have probably sampled around 20 different protein supplements and haven't found one yet that I can stomach. One of the problems is that I'm not a big "sweets" person. Sweets did not get me into the situation where I am today. And all the proteins I've tried are just too sweet for my taste (I don't think the texture bothers me). Given my past history, I just don't think I'll ever acquire a taste for anything so sweet. If I had the time, and was enterprising enough, I would invent some salty protein supplements, such as soups and tomato juices. Is there such a thing already out there? — Le P. Hi I don't know but I can't tolerat any of the protein shakes out there and
have tried many, but salty ones doesn't sound too good either, but I do
know what you mean, I crave slat sometimes too,. but I was told to what the
salt intake though because it can do something to your body I heard can't
remember exactly what though, so I just try to stay away from it the best I
can! good luck to you!

I know that both unjury and isopure, make flavorless protein powder that
you can add to anything you want. you just have to be careful not to heat
it too much or the proteins start to break down. it's definately worth a
try. you can get samples of both of these to see which one you like better.
the unjury is at unjury.com, and the isopure you can find at vitalady.com
good luck.

I've been after savory protein for years now. Have tasted some proto-types
that were very doable, but have had trouble getting them into production.
Mfrs are scared of them. What you might try in the meantime is something
like ProCel in your soups. Don't know how it would work in V8 or something
like that.

There's a place that I order protein hot chocolate from, I've seen soup on
their web site but haven't tried it yet. It has 12-15 grams of protein in a
serving, not a huge amount, but it'd help boost your numbers up a bit! The
link is:

Good luck! (by the way for those that like sweets, the raspberry hot
chocolate is delicious!)

I know exactly what you mean. I don't know of any salty protiens, but I
had a terrible craving for salt right after my bypass. I craved pickles
and even the pickle juice. Good luck

and tomato soup!!!! They have next to no carbs, and 12-15 grams of
protein. Their website is http://www.leanforlife.com/ecommerce/soups.cfm
