Question:
Iam a yr and a half out from having surgery
and my hair is paper thin, in the front its almost bald. You can see my scalp thats how thin it is. I have tried different items and nothing is helping. I am desperate to know if anyone else has been in my situation and what did you do. I would rather be 135 pounds heavier then look like I do now. PLease help me if you can. — Schatzie1 (posted on February 15, 2004)

I also have this problem i used rogain for women, the shampoo and
conditioner that my hairstylist recomended which was Nioxin still
nothing..so I ran into a friend of mine which she had the same problem and
told me to start taking 2 prenatal vitamins and guess what within a month
my hair finally started growing back..thank god cause I also missed my
beautiful hair..wish you lots of hair..good luck. sheila Lap Rny 4-22-03

I could have written your question, but I wouldn't want my weight back.
Nioxin did nothing. Rogain may be doing a little, but I only started that
in Nov. I'm going to look into the prenatal vits. Right now I have four
different wigs. If you find something that works, tell us all because
there are people out there who have not regained their hair.

My Dr. gave me this(Vita-Plex Plus) it's working, but you can only get it
through your Dr.
Good Luck!

I had tried everything. I started out with very thin hair before surgery
and it only got worse. I had been using Nioxin products for about a year
before surgery and my hair looked pretty good. After surgery it got really
bad. I used the Healthy Hair, Skin and Nails vitamins from HSC and didn't
get very good results from them. I am now 16 months post-op. I have been
using Rogain for Women for 6 months and my hairdresser and I can't believe
how much hair I have. I am very happy with the results. I have more hair
than I have had for 5 years. I think you have to experiment and find out
what works best for you. Good luck.
