Question:
worried about cause of mild pain after complications.
I am about 7 1/2 months out from surgery. I had serious complications including a fistula, revision to fix the fistula, pnemonia and an abdominal infection. Ever since my last surgery, I get low grade pain in the front of my left shoulder and sometimes in my right shoulder. From what I understand and what the Dr. said is that it is referred pain from my diaphram. He said it might be adhesions. I feel it when I walk or take a deep breath. Has anyone else experienced this? I am afraid of a leak or something else going on down there. The pain is very mild but enough to keep reminding me of it. My Dr. doesn't seem too concerned about it. I am feeling very well otherwise. — Heather S. (posted on January 14, 2004)

I have the odd shoulder pain as well. I posted about it a while back.
Mine only appears when something is amis with my intestines. (Gas or
whatever) It goes away as soon as the intestinal issue does. :) I've
consulted my doc about it, and even had an upper GI, they know nothing...as
usual. It doesn't surface too often anymore, so I don't concern myself
with it too much. But that is me. Rebecca 10/03/01 265/140
