Question:
Labwork results
Can anybody translate what these elevated levels mean from my lab work: (1) Urea Nitrogen (BUN) is 26 (normal is 7-25) (2) Bun/Creatinine ratio is 33 (should be 6-25) (3) Calcium oxalate crystals in urine was moderate, should be 'none of few' Anything to be concerned about? — Vicki S. I had crystals in Sept, got my kidney stone for Christmas. Might have
already been too late, but the urologist told me to: stop doing all brown
liquids (caf or decaf); spinach & other dark green leafies; switch from
calcium carbonate to citrate; do not take Tums or any other antacids like
that. I did every single thing except give up my diet coke. And paid with
pain that makes labor look like fun!

WARNING!WARNING!WARNING! Kidney stones are about to attack. I have had
kidney stone attacks 7 times. I know what I am talking about. (Im pre-op,
BTW) Get rid of leafy greens, including brocolli, beets, chocolate, ALL
DAIRY, anything that contains oxalates!
And then the next very obvious suggestion....call your doctor instead of
listening to a bunch of non-professionals like us! :)

Oh yea, you must also not have diet or regular coke. THis is to the last
poster as well! (Michelle) I used to drink diet coke all the time. I still
get weak when I smell it. But I do NOT have any!
