Question:
Vegi Supplement?
I'm finding no matter how hard I try, I just can't get in enough fresh vegis after I eat the required protein at each meal. I don't want cumulative effects of small vegi amounts to add up to a nutritional deficiency in the future. If you take a special vitamin or supplement that would help, please share that with me. I'm having my LBL the week after Christmas and want to be sure I'm as prepared and nutritionally sound as possible. Thanks to all of you. I don't know what I would have done without each of you throughout my journey. — Vicki S. (posted on November 25, 2003)

Hi Vicki,
I got a supplement from my chiropractor called Greening Power by a company
called Energetix. It has 45 fruits and vegetables. Check to see if the
company has a website. Sometimes they will tell you where to purchase it or
if there is someone in your area that carries it. Good Luck!!!

Hi Vicki: Good luck with the LBL. :o) I'm a little confused about
veggies. I mean sure they're good for you and all, but other than vitamins
and minerals and the fiber I don't think they have anything else we need.
Correct me if I'm wrong anyone. So if you're not able to eat much more
than the 30 grams protein per meal there still shouldn't be a problem
because we take vitamins and mineral suppliments anyway. And if we need
fiber we can get that via suppliments as well. I always assumed the
veggies were more for longer post ops who had extra room, and ate them
after the 30 grams. Could be wrong??? Personally I never liked vieggies
much, and I still don't, so the WLS worked out well for me in that regard.
