Question:
Is my insurance company stalling??? Please Help
Has anyone else out there had trouble with Blue Cross Blue Shield of Il. PPO recieving your surgeons request for surgery letter? I have had the surgeons office fax this letter to them 3 times in the past month and they keep telling me they havent recieved anything! I have verified the fax number with both the surgeons office and BCBS. Do you think my insurance company is just stalling? Has this happened to anyone else out there? What do I do now? — Kara J. Anything is possible. If you are within reasonable driving distance of a
regional office, preferably the one that does the pre-auths, I would hand
deliver it and get the name of the person who receives it. That's the main
way I deal with BCBS of WI.

Hi. I had the same thing happen to me. I have BCBS PPO also. They are
stalling. It took me 8 weeks to get an answer. I had my surgeon's office
call them several times. They kept telling me they had no information in
the computer or they didn't receive anything yet. They did receive the
information the first time it was sent but it is not put into the computer
until you have an answer. So,until you are approved they will say they
don't have any information. If you have your doctor or surgeon call they
will tell them that they have received it and are reviewing it. I called
the insurance company every few days and got no response. After my surgeon
called them a few times I finally was approved. How long has it been since
you submitted your request? Just keep in contact with your surgeon's office
and they should get a response. Good Luck!!

You could also send it by certified mail so someone has to sign for it.
Call and ask for the name of the supervisor of the department at BCBS where
your letter needs to be processed. You will get a receipt when the letter
has been recieved by the party that signs for it.
