Question:
Has anyone with a BMI of 38 had an extra hard time getting approval from BC/BS

My BMI was 38 at initial consultation.I have several comorbities,gestational diabetes,gerd,osteoarthritis in knees,high cholesteral and hyperlipidemia(596)anxiety problems.Has anyone else with similar probs and BMI been approved by BC/BS or HMO Blue of NY?    — natalie J. Hi Natalie: I had BC/BS PPO of CA so unfortunately not the same thing. I was just over 40 BMI on the day of my surgery and had fewer comorbs and was approved first try. I think you'd do better to find your exact insurance co. by doing a search in the insurers link at the top of the page. Not everyone reads the messages everyday so they might miss it, or are no longer coming because they're too busy leading their new skinny lives. :o) Even someone less active with AMOS would probably still be willing to answer any question about their insurer if you emailed them.
