Question:
Has anyone submitted nude photos to their insurance carrier?
I know this sounds pretty silly, but I am putting together a packet for my new insurance company & was thinking that to give it that extra "bang" that I would enclose some nude (nearly nude maybe w/panties & bra) photos of myself; however, I don't want to include my face. I know that it's not like they won't know who I am - but it's going to be hard enough for me to let someone take these pics (I'm even embarrassed at the thought of asking my mother). Has anyone else submitted photos like this? Did you include your face? Do you think that it even matters to them?? I just want to make sure I do it all right this time. . . Thanks so much :) ~Amanda — amandalianne (posted on August 12, 2003)

Sorry but I think this is a very bad idea. People do submit those pictures
for Plastic surgery but not regular weight loss. The insurance doesn't
care about your looks or your quality of life. (Like the things you are
unable to do due to being obese.) All they are interested in is the
medical. They will probably think you are a nut case and deny your surgery
until you get counseling. Sorry to be so blunt. Whatever you do, Good
luck!

Hi Amanda- Probably a letter from your PCP with your height, weight, and
BMI would be proof enough :o) Good Luck!

I sent a photo of myself but I was completely clothed. If you look at my
profile you will see the letter I sent them. The reason I sent the photo
was so that I wouldn't be just another number, but a person they were
making a decision about, in case there was any lee-way in their ability to
decide my approval. I think they didn't even get it since the auth
department was at a different address and I still got approved
immediately.
Don't send pics in underwear - if you feel compelled to show your skin -
try a swim suit or tank top and shorts. I was not in it for the
"bang" but for the human connection.

howdy! I agree, the soft porn isnt a good idea. Even if you cover your
face. I did send pictures of myself, but they dated back to age 5 to show
that I had in fact been Super MO for more than 5 years. Those pics along
with my appeal letter were what got my APPROVAL. And I kept my dignity as
well as my clothing!!!!! GOOD LUCK
