Question:
Help! new job new insurance.......Aetna!
I am relocating to New Jersey and will have a new insurance (Aetna)I currently have CareFirst Blue Cross and am post-op 15 weeks with no problems with insurance. My question is how will the switch affect me? and is there anyone who has had plastic surgery with open access Aetna? — Tarah S. (posted on July 22, 2003)

I am 3 weeks post op and we are changing to Aetna on August 1st.I called my
surgeons office because I was worried that I would not be able to get my
fills but they say that the way they bill for them they can get around the
ins.(Aetna doesnt cover Lap Band)so I would check with the surgons office
they probably have experience with Aetna. They have their guidelines for PS
on the web site at aetna.com.I will want a tummy tuck and breast reduction
and lift. They cover these procedures but you have to have your stuff
together and have lots of documentation so I plan to start seeing my PCP
now with complaints so I can have documentation. Hope this helps some.

Hi Tarah, You will need to submit a Transition of Care form to Aetna. The
surgeon will need to fill out section 4 and you fill in the rest. Good
luck!
