My doctor recommends Phillips Milk of Magnesia but only as a last resort.
They recommend a daily fiber supplement if you have continual problems with
constipation. I use Bene-Fiber and it works pretty well. But I still do
have bouts with constipation.

milk of magnesia stopped working for me after a few weeks, besides being
almost impossible to choke down. You might need a stool softener, like
Colace, as well. Laxatives are known to be addictive, so be careful.
Peri-Colace has the laxative and softener. Just be sure you're getting
enough fluids in, as that's really the key.

Usualy 4 oz's of coffee, 1 packet of sugar, and 1 thing of creamer works
for me. I'm ususaly on the pot within 30 minutes of drinking. You do need
to be careful of what laxitive you choose though, as you can get some very
bad stomach cramps from it. I would recommend smooth moves tea. You can
sweeten it with a packet of splenda, although it dosen't realy help with
the taste. How long you let it seep depends on how strong you want it. Good
luckk!
