are stimulant laxatives safe ???

I am constipated,and bought a package of laxatives with the stimulant-Bisacodyl 5mg in it , i couldn`t find any info on stimulant laxatives in the archives, i just don`t want to hurt myself, or anything so i am asking about it before i take it. i am 11 months postop thanks, open rny proximal 8/14/02 261.5/156/?
