Question:
Can anyone recommend a good nutrition guide book?

I checked the archives first & only found one book listed. I could use some additional suggestions. I am looking for a good nutrition guide book with calorie, protein & carb listings for both grocery store food and some restaurant food. The FDA used to have one on their website, but it is no longer there. I travel for work (US & Overseas) so I really need a small book I can take with me. Thank You AMOS Family for any suggestions you can provide!!! RNY 4/2/03 -46lbs    — M B. (posted on July 10, 2003)

I love my Complete Book of Food Counts by Corinne Netzer. It's a thick paperback (928 pages) and might work for you. It lists some name brand foods, but I'm not sure about restaurant listings. Nutrition information includes calories, fat, carbs, protein, sodium, cholesterol and fiber.

Hi Maggie! Restaurant Confidental and The Complete Book of Food Counts are 2 books I use everyday, since I had my Lap RNY 5 months ago 2/11/03. Although, I have only eaten out 2 times since surgery. lol You can find them at any book store or online. Hope it helps!

"The Complete Book of Food Counts" by Corinne Netzer or "The Complete Food Counter" by Annette Natow/Jo-ann Heslin are both great books.
