Question:
Has anyone gotten approval in WA state w/medicaid?

Does anyone know what the requirements are for approval w/medicaid in WA? Or where I can get the info? Also, what doctors accept medicaid for gastric bypass? Hi Sasha, I'm confused. I looked at your profile and it sounds like you recently had surgery approved by Aetna. If you're asking for someone else, which surgoeon are they using. I know of a couple of people in Dr Simonowitz's (Bellevue) group that have medicaid. If you don't get any responses on this board, email me and I can get a few names for you. Hi! Yes, I am posting this for a girlfriend. She is just starting the process and doesn't have a doctor yet. We're just trying to find out where to start the process for now. Thanks!

Hi Sasha! Dr Simonowitz does accept Medicaid and he's a really good doctor. I have Medicaid and I am finishing up my testing before we go for approval. But the state has covered it before. The usual requirements, medical necessity, BMI over 40, that sort of thing. Just keep up with all the paperwork. Good luck to your friend.
