Question:
HAS ANYONE EVER BEATEN A DENIAL FROM CAREFIRST BLUECHOICE WITH THIS EXCLUSION?

Has anyone ever beaten a denial from Carefirst BlueChoice with the exclusion as follows, "Medical or Surgical treatment for obesity, unless otherwise specified under "Covered Services". I have been denied because of my small group status in Maryland so I am not covered by law and they say it doesn't matter that I'm MORBIDLY obese, its all the same. HELP!!! This exclusion looks like it is not absolute. It looks like there may be an exception to this exclusion--"as provided under covered services". What does the part under covered services say? Is there anything pertaining to either (1) weight loss surgery or (2) proceedures that are medically necessary? Email me if you want, at [email protected].
