Question:
Had my sleep study done, what does this mean?
I had my sleep study done laste night. The nurse said that my breathing was fine, O2 sats only dropped a few times, however, I have interupted sleep patterns. I will get the official report in a week or so. Does anyone know what this means? Will this help with qualifying for surgery? I know I only slept hard for about 3 hours as I kept looking at my watch to check the time. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks — Jan S. (posted on January 22, 2003)

If your breathing was fine then you probably do not have sleep apnea which
is good (for you healthwise). It won't help you get approval for surgery
if you need comorbids. Interrupted sleep patterns just means you kept
waking up.
