Question:
Is there anyone out there post-op lower body lift or TT w/ mastopexy?
I'm scheduled for a lower body lift and mastopexy on the 16th and need to know what to expect regarding recovery. Will I be able to care for my 3 young children (6, 3 and 3) at 6 or 7 days out? I only have f/t help for that long. I'd like to go back to work 2 or 3 weeks out. Is that overly optomistic? My surgeon say's 'no', but she hasn't gone through it :) Please share your experiance w/ me! I'm worried! Thank you! — mom2jtx3 (posted on January 8, 2003)

I can;t really give you a sound answer, as I haven't had the surgery yet .
But I am scheduled for a lower body lift & full abdominoplasty on
01/24. The doc says I should be able to go back to work after two weeks.
I don't have kids, but I imagine caring for them is tougher on the body
than my desk job. Do you have some family, or friends that may be able to
help at least some of the time after your full time help is gone? Good
Luck with the PS!

Take care of two 3 year olds, no one person can do that, lol! I had an
inner thigh lift and abdominoplasty and went back to school in a week,
wouldn't really recomend it though. I have a four year old, three at that
time. The worst thing is if you need to lift them for any reason, like
getting them in a car seat, you will need help. If Tiffany wanted held, I
would just sit down and then let her climb onto my lap and try to take care
of it that way. I had my mastopexy done last week and to me it hurts worse
than the abdominoplasty did, more soreness. You are going to need help for
at least a week, but your 6 year old will be a big help.
