Question:
Has anyone else tried these?

Hi there, Amos family! My husband bought some buffolo jerky last night, I looked and looked but could not find any topics on this at all. I'm very nervous about trying new things. And considering that I have never eaten buffolo in my life this scares me even more. But the protein on this alone was 15g for one ounce! I knew I could get some honest opinions here. Has anyone tried buffolo meat or buffolo jerky? Thanks, Vi. open RNY 9/23/02 down 80 lbs.    — Vi F. (posted on December 24, 2002)

I've had chili made with beef-alo, a mix of buffalo and beef. And it was very good. I have heard that buffalo is higher in protein and lower in fat, but I don't know if that is true or not...just something I "heard". Good Luck and let us know how ya like it!! Have a Sparkling Holiday! ~CAE~

I have not personally tried Buffalo jerky, but I do eat alot of beef jerky. I have read that alot of people on here like the buffalo meat and jerky. If you go to fitday.com you can find the nutritional information about buffalo meat. Happy holidays.

Yes, buffalo is lower in fat than beef, so I think buffalo jerky would be a great idea. Do you know what the brand name of it is? I'd love to find some. I have eaten beef jerky, but would love to try the buffalo. Getting 15 g of protein in just 1 ounce would be outstanding.

I had a buffalo stew 3 months ago when I was on vacation. It was a stronger 'gamier' taste than normal beef is. As with alot of game meats, it was alot chewier too.

There is a support group about 70 miles from here. I only went once as it is really bad city driving. However I noticed that many people brought in loads of protein that was ordered bulch and someone else brought in bag loads of Buffalo Jerky. As others have said it is low fat and high protein. Personally I love ANY KIND of jerky. Just chew it until it is liquid, and eat it slow until you find out if it agrees with you.

I LOVE buffalo jerky! And, I found this great place in Holland Michigan that makes all kinds of jerky, including: Turkey jerky in flavors like Cran-apple and Firebird, Elk and Buffalo jerky, Cherry chicken jerky, Honey Ham pork jerky. You can reach them at www.jerkiesjerky.com. they have the best hickory smoked jerky!

Hi there, Amos family! I am the original poster. I don't have any allergies and I have had reg. beef jerky as well as turkey jerky. I was just a bit nervous about the buffolo, but I tried it today. It does have a stronger taste than beef, but it was still good. Thanks for everyones opinions and sorry for misspelling it, that's why I couldn't find it in the database. :-O <p> Gar, it's called Jack Link's, my husband got it from Walmart for about $3.50. And Merri, thanks for the website, I will definately try some from there. Everyone have a great day! Vi
