Question:
Hair Loss AGAIN at TEN MONTHS? Is this possible?

I've always lost hair in the shower , I think because of my Synthroid. I lost quite a fair amount of hair post-op, months 4-6. I eventually started to see regrowth (baby hairs along my hairline, thickness). Now, here I am at 10 months and I swear I am losing a lot more than a month or two ago AND my hair FEELS thinner, like it did when I originally started losing. What the heck is going on here? I eat an almost wholly protein diet, plus a protein drink every morning. I am taking my calcium citrate and multi-vites. Has anyone experienced this, or am I completely delusional?    — PaulaM (posted on December 18, 2002)

You are not delusional. I lost twice (so far) also. I lost from month 3-6 then again on month 9. I can't remember how long it lasted but not as long as 3 months like the first time. I also had the baby hairs growing back. I have always had baby fine hair and go through periods of hair loss during traumatic events in my life. I have heard of one other person that has lost twice. Maybe you will get more answers on this.

What happened about 4 months ago? Any side surgeries? Dental, wrist---anything like that? Major emotional stress? I've lost hair twice with no surgery. We KNOW I take enough protein! After the death of my mothre, and my dad's illness. Each time, I've had a loss. Not quite as much as postie, but substantial.

I too started to lose hair at 10 months again. I never consulted my doctor about it (oops) but mine stopped I beleive around 12 months post-op. I had all the baby hair around my head as well and as far as I know that didn't fall out. I'm 15 months post-op now and its fine now.
