Question:
Wisconsin HIRSP- any success?
I've already posted this question, but I don't see it on here now, so I'm trying again - sorry if it's a repeat. I recently had my insurance cancelled & was told about Wisconsin's Health Insurance Risk Sharing Plan (HIRSP.) Does anyone had that insurance & have you been approved? I know they have a six month waiting period for pre-existing conditions, so I hate to pay the premiums for six months only to be denied. — M G. (posted on December 16, 2002)

If you have the insurance then you should have gotten a detailed benefits
booklet. It should indicate in there if it is a clear cut exclusion or
only available due to medical necessity. Otherwise pick up the phone and
ask and also ask what their criteria is for being approved. You may need 6
months of supervised diets etc., so you could get everything taken care of
at once.
