Question:
Does anyone know the CPT codes for pre-op dietician visits?

I need to see the dietician after my first appointment with the surgeon. The appointment has already been made for me. The insurance wants to know th CPT codes for the visit prior to authorizing this visit. The dieticians office was unable to give those to be because it depends on what happens during the visit. hi. i am a claims adjustor so i pay medical/dental claims. there are a lot of different cpt codes that could be used for a visit such as this. no way to pinpoint unless you ask your provider of services. hope this helps.

Hi Jan, The first visit to the dietician should be CPT code 97802. After that they should be using 97803 or 97804 depending on whether it is private or group assesments. Hope this helps.
