Question:
3mos post-op, Why is my abdomen hard under my breast?

I am 3 mos post. I noticed my abdomen is hard and firm under my breast. Its that way when I stand up. Has anybody ever had this happen before? What could cause this? Their is no pain. I do alot of different ab exercises 6 days a week. It seems to be poked out. I don't think this is a hernia.Thanks for your input-Beth    — Elizabeth C. (posted on November 25, 2002)

Sounds just like me, and mine is a hernia. If it goes away when you lay down on your back, then that's what yours is too.

Uh, it might just be your ribcage...I panicked the first time I was scratching my back and felt this hard lump in the area of my kidney...further exploration revealed that it was my lowest rib...go figure...

I'm not sure where under your breast you mean. I have a hardness in the center under and between both breasts. Mine is where the new pouch is and scar tissue from the surgery. I notice it even more when I exercise my stomach muscles. It feels really hard & tight.

hi there :) im 9 months out and i just noticed a hard area lower in the middle just under breasts. it is scar tissue.i freaked at first thinking it was a hernia. but then again i also freaked when i could feel some bones in my back and thought they must have been a tumor. ( i know, im silly! just not used to all these bones poppin up LOL ! best of luck to you and i think it is scar tissue.
