Question:
Any suggestions for self pay under $15,000

My insurance won't cover gastric bypass. I will do self pay. I have been exploring going outside the US for surgery but want to see if I can find a reasonably priced, yet reliable self pay in the US. Can anyone suggest a good surgeon and self pay program that is less than $15,000. A bonus would be a surgeon who is sensitive to working with patients who travel long distances for the surgery (for example, limits the number of appointments necessary at his office). NC is a GREAT place to go. My surgeon charged only $4000 and gives a 10% discount if you pay cash. My total 5 day in hospital for an open RNY was less than $15,000. He's Dr. Gonzales of Winston Salem NC. He does the RNY but he also does the DS procedure. Open and lap

Dr. Barry Greene in Silver Spring Maryland is a laparoscopic gastric bypass surgeon. He is charging exactly $15,000. He's a wonderful person and on the best surgical group in Maryland!!!

I am having surgery in Little Rock Arkansas on 1/8/03. I am also a self pay patient. My surgeon is Mark Gibbs and his fee is under $4000.00 for an open RNY. He uses Baptist Memorial Hospital which charges a flat fee of $7000.00. Most of my information has been given over the phone or through the mail. I live in Kansas City and Little Rock is about an 8 hour drive. I will have my consoltation and lab work done on 1/7 and surgery on the 8th.
