Question:
Problems with acne, could it be Equal?
I have been having problems with acne since I have had surgery. Last night I was at a parent teacher conference, and one of the teachers was talking about Equal. She said that she used to use equal all the time, and her face broke out really bad, she went to the dermotologist and he told her that Equal could cause that, so she started using splenda. Has anyone else heard that? — Donna T. (posted on November 14, 2002)

Hormone levels will effect acne, and hormones are stored in your fat cells.
when you burn the fat the hormones are released. This will cause hot
flash like things and many other lovely side effects such as acne. It will
go away in time, but I will say this......proactive is the deal. My mother
ordered it off tv and gave me what was left over in the bottles when she
got the next shipment. I have used it for one week and am floored as to
the results. I have since ordered my own supply and would be willing to
pay double the price. If the acne really is an issue, you might check it
out.

hi there :) i think if you were allergic to equal it could break you out
but i agree with the other poster surgery really does affect your hormones
and weight loss really does.i think that is more probable. you may
experience funky periods as welli think electrolytes get wacky at first too
this is why so many crave salt. best of luck to you. it will straighten out
for you in time :)

OH MY GOODNESS!! For the first 5 ,months after surgery, you would have
thought I was a teenager agian. I had SOOOO much acne, And I NEVER use
equal, i only use splenda. So, change sweetners if you want to (I happen to
like splenda better then equal), but don't expect the acne to go away until
your weight loss slows down and your hormones stabilze a little bit.

Hmmmmm.... A lady at our support group the other night said her skin broke
out like a teenager's after surgery (the woman is in her late 50's). She
tracked the cuplrit to chewable kid's vitamins. When she changed to
another form of vitamin, her skin cleared.

I didn't have this problem myself (yet?) but I recommend you try Proactiv
solution. They have a website, www.proactiv.com. It is rather expensive,
$45 for your first order, but the acne clears up within 3 weeks, and if you
keep using it, stays away. Works great for my teenage daughter - if she
could only remember to USE it every night! Good luck!
