Problems with acne, could it be Equal?

I have been having problems with acne since I have had surgery. Last night I was at a parent teacher conference, and one of the teachers was talking about Equal. She said that she used to use equal all the time, and her face broke out really bad, she went to the dermotologist and he told her that Equal could cause that, so she started using splenda. Has anyone else heard that?
