Question:
Pacific Bariatric pts......pre-op day

Hi there. I wanted to ask if anyone who went through Pacific Bariatrics in San Diego can tell me what the pre-op visit entails the day before surgery. It seems it goes for 2-3 hours. What happens in all that time? Also, how low would be too low for RBC, HCT etc prior to surgery? Thanks everyone.    — Katie E. (posted on November 1, 2002)

Hi Katie, The pre-op appointment consists of paperwork - admissions, etc. They also weigh you and take photos of you [at your best] LOL. You will also get to meet the anesthesiologist, and you will also be told about what to expect the day of surgery.Best wishes,

It is scheduled for 4 hours, admission paperwork, nuritionist, (we did not get the anesthesilogist), nurses, pictures, binder fittings- all on the afternoon that you take you Milk of Magnesia shooter..FUN!!
