Question:
What can be wrong

I was looking at my calendar, In the month of June I was down to 200 pound, from 310, Now it's the end of October and I've only lost 10 pound (I now weigh 190) Why have I only lost 10 pound after 4 months. Nothing have changed with my eating patterns, So I can't see why I'm not losing weight. I still want to lose another 40 pounds or so. What can I do to achieve this goal? Do you think I can be still losing inches after all this time? Thanks    — Rebe W. (posted on October 30, 2002)

You don't say WHEN you had surgery or what type?

Are you excercising? My surgeon told me the initial loss comes off easily because of surgery but it doesn't work 100% by itself. Try walking, if you're not already. Good luck. Open RNY 10/22/02

Have you changed up the food any that you are eating? I find when I add new foods and not stick to the same old food everyday, that I tend to lose weight faster. It is like my body gets use to the same old foods. Just an idea. And as always...drink and work out as much as possible. Maybe change up your work out routine. Variety is the spice of life. Good Luck.

You are probably on a plateau. I would find that I could bounce around the same few pounds for a month then... wooosh, I'd be down like 7 lbs in a week. I wouldn't sweat it. If I had a buck for everytime I thought, OK this is it, I'm done loosing, I'd have a lotsa bucks (lol). You're doing fine...relax(easier said than done, I KNOW) -Kim open RNY 7/17/01 -137 (and still loosing!)

Welcome to my nightmare. I lost 120 pounds in 6 months and then hit a two month plateau. Then I lost about 25 pounds in the next two months and now I've hit another plateau. My surgeon thinks I'm getting close to where I need to be. I am 5'5" tall and weigh 194. He wants me to get to 190 and then have my hernia repair/tummy tuck. He thinks I will lose 20 -25 pounds with the tummy tuck and because I am 56 he doesn't think I should lose much more. I really want to get to 150 but I don't know if I will make it. I have a tremendous amount of hanging flesh on my thighs and he thinks that is part of the problem and losing more won't help that. I still hope I can lose about 20 more before the tummy tuck - which I hope to have in January because the hernia is such a pain.

hi i weigh myself everyday even though they tell me not to and when i see something is not working i watch better and exercise more. i really think if you exercise more than you are you will loose as the surgeon said the surgery only takes care of 60% and we have to do the rest. i am the same height as you and a year younger and i also want to hit 150 i have about 70 more to go take care rosemary
