Question:
How well has your body bounced back at 26? (Elasticity issues)

I'm wondering how well my body will bounce back after losing the weight. I know it depends on how much weight and how old you are as to whether you will have significant sagging or not. I am 5'7 and almost 150lbs overweight, and 26 years old. Do you think I'll sag much or just a little or not at all? Thanks so much!    — Toni M. (posted on September 30, 2002)

I was barely 28 when I had surgery, but I started out at an extremely high weight (407). I have lost 191 lbs. since then and definitely have droopy skin, but only in the abdominal area, breasts, etc. With a little spandex and some clothes, I'm looking pretty good these days! Also, my legs were never really that fat, so I have great legs these days and wear shorts often. Wherever your biggest weight problem is, you'll notice droopiness ... so if you carried your weight in your belly, you'll have a droopy belly. If you carried your weight in your rear end, you'll have a droopy fanny. Don't worry, though - you'll only need plastic surgery if you're one of those vain sorts who wants to wear a bikini post-surgery!!! LOL

I could live on a glacier in the middle of Alaska, where one would never even have an opportunity to wear a bikini and I would still, without a doubt have plastic surgery. I am 27, down 127.5 lbs from a starting weight of 314. I am 7.5 months post-op. My body is a mess. I am looking into breast lift, full abdominoplasty and lower body lift. I had hoped youth would be on my side, but it defintely didn't turn out that way. At times, it has been kind of deprsing for me, although the weight gone is truly worth it. You never know though, you may have better luck than me. Best wishes!

Hi, I am also 26 and had my surgery in October 2001. I started at 296lbs and down to 174lbs. I was hoping my skin would bounce back but it hasn't. My doctor is going to do my consult for an abdominoplasty, body lift when I go back in December. I also want to have a breast lift and my arms done. As far as the bikini you better believe I will be in one next summer if I have everything done.

Well I am 25 and I definately need plastic surgery. I need my arms done badly. And of course the tummy, and I would like the thighs. And my poor boobs. I am just a mess. Haha. Would rather be like this than 381 pounds though! I personally think that if you are someone who yo-yo'd a lot you are more likely to have worse sagging. Because of the constant stretch and shrink. Stretch and shrink. I really didn't think I would sag this much going into the surgery though, I thought I was young and supple. Hee.
