Question:
B-12 liquid tastes YUK....can I mix it with H2O?
protein shakes and bars taste yuk, the B-12 is gross....Seems that I will spend the majority of my new life trying to force down the nasty stuff we have to take in order to be healthy....I tried the vitalady samples of shakes...$20 worth... I have 7 protein bars with a nibble out of each in a zipper bag and I have 2 brands of B-12...hoping one would taste better than the other.. All of it tastes like crap. I am one of those people that can't take anything that tastes bad b/c I will vomit. I know that It sounds stupid but I have even thrown up pepto and cough syrup. I have always been this way...not sure why though. I am pretty worried that I won't be able to get all of this stuff in post op. — cherokey55 (posted on September 20, 2002)

How are you with shots??? If you don't want to take (or cannot take) the
liquid/sublingual form of B-12, your only alternative is to get a B-12 shot
monthly (1000 mcg). If you don't, you will eventually develop pernicious
anemia which is a rather nasty disease involving the nervous system...JR

Go to GNC and get sublingual B-12 *TABLETS* (NOT LIQUID). They are cherry
flavored and taste very good I promise! You just let them dissolove under
your tongue. I gave away my B-12 liquid after one try cuz it was so nasty I
gagged. I think you can order GNC products online, too. They are kinda
pricey, but well worth it, in my opinion. It's believe I paid around $17
for a box of 60 and then if you buy one GNC product you get a second for
half price (in the walk in stores at least), so you can get two boxes (120
tablets) for around $25. I take one/day. I got my bloodwork done last month
and all my levels including B12 were normal.

I got b-12 sublinguals from vitalady.com and it was cheap and now they are
on sale ... 250 for 12.98... they are a slight cherry taste and quite
frankly I don't even barely taste them. :) I have seen them in my
supermarket too..I would try those if I was you.

the b12 shots are very easy to give to yourself, and if you get the right
syringes, they won't hurt.
BD Ultrafine II short needle. It is almost as fine as a strand of your

I have the liquid Bcomplex from GNC and with 32oz or more of water it is
flavorless. it has 1000 mcg of B12 w/other B vitamins and I take it 2x's a
week.

You cannot dilute the liquid B-12 because you don't drink it, you let it
dissolve under your tongue. Diluting it would ruin its efficacy. Try the
sublingual tablets. I get mine from VitaminShoppe and they have almost no
taste at all. Also, I get the 1000 mcg tablets instead of the 500 mcg so
that I only have to take them every other day. My doctor's office
suggested this and it works really well for me.
