Question:
I am looking for a Dr to perform lap ruen-y asap because my insurance is changing.
My bmi is 37 and I have major health risk which include being diabetic (as of 97), asthma, arthritis, reflux, lower back pain when standing for a while. I am 23 years old and would like to better my health so that I don't have more problems in the future. The problem I am running into is that my insurance is changing Jan 1 and they will not pay for the actual surgery. I have United Health Care now and I live in Kentucky but can fly anywhere to have the durgery done. Please help if you can. — Lynn K. (posted on September 17, 2002)

My Surgeon does the operation lap. He is out of Hannibal, MO. He is
fairly a new surgeon but, myself and mother and 5 of my friends have had it
done and no one has had any problems. He is quite young and that probably
scared me the most but I know he was top in the surgeon field and I felt
very comfortable with him after speaking with him. My first consult was on
Feb 20 and had surgery on April 9. My pcp nurse just had her consult
yesterday and she will be having surgery the first part of November. So
you have a chance to get this done before the new year if you call right
away. Good luck and feel free to email me if you have any other questions

Hi. I had a great surgeon. His name is Dr. Thomas Lavin and he practices in
Covington Louisiana. I recommend him highly. He did my surgery two weeks
after the insurance approval. His phone number is (985)875-9272. He also
does them laparoscopicly which I preferred to open. Good luck to you and
God Bless.
