Question:
I need to find a surgeon for post op follow up! Just got transferred!
Help! I just moved to Rockford Illinois and can't find a surgeon who will follow me post op. I cannot go to BTC because I did not have surgery there. I have been scrambling trying to find someone to follow me. Any ideas how to go about finding a new surgeon? I am afraid all surgeons are going to give me the same story. My original surgeon is over 12 hours away! I have had some post op issues and need someone close to home. Thanks for your input! RNY 111901-down 107. :) — purdue_1993 (posted on August 28, 2002)

I had my surgery through Suburban Surgical Care in Arlington Heights.
Still about an hour and a half from where you are, but at least closer than
12 hours. I've had my own post-op complications, and have been very
frustrated with the surgeon that did my RNY, however, there are a few at
this practice that seem to be very caring. Their number is 847-255-9697.
Hope this helps!

Hi Amy, My surgery was 12/19/01 and my surgeon is in Northern Va. I live
in NC. While its only 5 hours away, I go to my PCP for all post-op issues
and testing. I have called my surgeon when I had questions or issues. If
you don't already have a new PCP - find one and try to use their
recommendations. A Lot of surgeons who do WLS are general surgeons and may
be able to help you. Good Luck!

I am going through the same thing only I moved to a small town with no
bariatric surgeons. I just wanted to say you are not alone, and I wish you
all the luck.
