Question:
Has anyone else had a really long period 1 yr out?

I have never been regular with my periods until I had this surgery. My periods have been on time since surgery. The only problem now is that this last period I got has lasted so far 8 days with heavy bleeding. I am still on it as I speak. Has this happend to anyone else? I don't know if I should wait it out or call the doctor? I was really hoping that I was gonna be normal. My weightloss has slowed and I am at goal. Anyway let me know what you think.    — Yvonne C. Mine are typically 4-5 days. 2 months ago (6mo. p/o) I had one that was 7 days. I didn't think it would ever end. I mentioned this to my PCP last month and she did say that it was a little bit long. But the last one was normal. It may be a flukey thing for you, if it continues I would definitely mention it to your doc.

I think you should call your GYN. Heavy or long bleeding could be a result of many things. I know for me I have a thin uterues (sp?)wall so that causes me heavy bleeding. My doctor put me on birth control to control it. Best of luck.
