Has anyone else had a really long period 1 yr out?

I have never been regular with my periods until I had this surgery. My periods have been on time since surgery. The only problem now is that this last period I got has lasted so far 8 days with heavy bleeding. I am still on it as I speak. Has this happend to anyone else? I don't know if I should wait it out or call the doctor? I was really hoping that I was gonna be normal. My weightloss has slowed and I am at goal. Anyway let me know what you think.
