Question:
What are out of pocket costs for fobi w/Dr. Husted?
I am fairly certain my insurance (UHC, POS)will cover my surgery, but I am concerned about out of pocket costs. I understand Dr. Husted requires a "deposit" (refundable after ins. pays)prior to surgery. I am just concerned-how much am I going to have to spend prior to surgery. And what if I get denied after paying for office visits, etc.? — Anne F. (posted on July 11, 2002)

Anne, Dr. Husted's office requires an upfront payment of
$3500, or $5000 if you have Blue Cross Blue Shield, which
you don't. I paid $107 for my first consultation, and I
understand that most insurance companies do not cover this
visit. Depending on how much your insurance pays for the
surgery, you usually get a refund on the upfront payment, but
one patient told me it took almost two years to get her refund.
By then, I would forget it, and it would seem like winning
a small lottery! Good luck to you. Ginger

I dont know what the costs are for this doctor but I had surgery from
Doctor Fobi himself and I paid out of pocket because my insurance denied
me. $21,000.00 original insurance price for Fobi is $ 60,000.00 yes thats
60 thousand!
