Question:
Anyone know of any miracle creams or anything that help the skin skrink?
I am three weeks pre-op and want to be prepared for the post-op time period. I REALLY want to avoid having to have any further surgery to deal with excess skin. So I'm wondering if anyone has any ideas about any creams, lotions, vitamins or anything that is supposed to help the skin shrink or contract or whatever the word would be, as we lose weight? — cp (posted on May 27, 2002)

Parts of me shrunk back pretty well for an old bat. Some parts, not so
well. If I had it to do over, compared to some today, I'd have: taken much
more protein supplement early on; taken more dry vite E; massaged vit E and
whatever other emolients I could find into my skin. I always did a quick
slap with lotions, but TODAY I would do a more thorough, regular job to
nourish from the outside, as well as the inside. Some use cocoa butter,
some use oils, some vit E lotion. I'd probably do it ALL. LOL!

Hi there, I was told to use Palmer's cocoa butter formula with vitamin
E... it smoothes marks, and tones skin...
I have been using it only for 2 weeks every day, and I have noticed a
difference. Long term, if it will help my skin problem, I dont know
though.... You can find this at Marcs, Meijers, or most stores... Good
luck!

I'll probably get flamed for my answer, but in addition to Vitamin E and
CoQ10 lotions, I've been going to the tanning salon. My skin looks and
feels better than it ever has and is shrinking pretty well as I lose
weight.

i have not had surgery yet but i was told that drinking lots and lots of
water could help the skin have more elasticity so i am drinking it before
and after surgery as much as i can i have always heard that drinking lots
of water gave you better skin hope it works
