Question:
Have WLS post-op pregnancies NOT experienced morning sickness due to the small pouch?
I am about 8 weeks pregnant and have not had the sickness to my stomach like I did with my other children. I am wondering if it is because we don't have a full tummy anymore. I am thankful so far that I don't get sick. — Angela S. (posted on May 20, 2002)

I had open RNY in January 2000...I just gave birth to twin boys 4 months
ago...I never had morning sickness and in fact was able to eat and DID eat
allot more while pregnant. But as soon as they were born my body went right
back to the way it was before and I could only eat small quantities again.
So I guess the size of the pouch has nothing to do with morning
sickness...you either get it or you dont. I do know that with twins you are
more likely to have morning sickness and I didnt. Hope this helps and
congratulations on your pregnancy.

I am so glad you are not hurling, this is probably a blessing for you. I
believe someone above is looking out for you and your new little blessing
to be. You need nutrition more than ever now. Take care G-friend, see you
in July.
