Question:
Absorbtion of antidepressants
I take Zoloft for depression. I have been feeling sort of down lately, and I was wondering, since we somewhat do not absorb all nutients, is it possible that I'm not absorbing my full dose of Zoloft ?[100mg @ night, Open RNY 1/18/02] Thanks — Sherry S. (posted on May 8, 2002)

I don't know the answer to this but am curious myself since I also take a
anti-depressant (celexa).

I was on Welbuprin SR (slow release). I noticed it wasn't working. My
doctor put me on the regular kind, and I'm fine now. I don't know if
zoloft has a regular one. The sr I was taking was 150 mg that I took twice
a day. I now take the regular, 100 mg, 3 times a day. The sr goes through
you before it is all relaeased.

Hello! When I had my psych eval the dr said there are 4 antidepressants
that now come in liquid form. I am on celexa and he said celexa is one of
them. I think Prozac was another, can't remember if zoloft was or not. May
be worth checking on. Best of luck!

Hi,
I am not sure about the absorbtion question, but I took welbutrin
presurgery and was switched to Prozac liquid post surgery actually made the
switch over a couple of weeks before surgery and all seems well. Good
luck:)

Hi,
Yes Zoloft comes in liquid form.
liquid (20 mg/mL).
If you were prescribed ZOLOFT Oral Concentrate, you must mix it with
another liquid before taking it.
Pour 4 oz. (1/2 cup) of any of the following liquids into a drinking glass:
water, ginger ale, lemon/lime soda, lemonade or orange juice(water is best
for WLS I imagine). Do not use any other liquids besides these.
It needs to be drank right away
