Question:
Below my left breast I can visibly
Under my right breast is flat, but the left side looks rounded out and almost swollen, but does not hurt. I've been having alot of vomitting (mostly due to trial and error eating) and am wondering if this is causing my pouch to look swollen even when I feel like it is empty. Is everyone is able to "view" their pouch? I am 5 wks post-op. — Jennifer C (posted on April 15, 2002)

Jennifer, I don't have an answer for you, but have you called your doctor
and talked to him/her about it? It's probably nothing to worry about, but
at 5 weeks you just never know... please call your doc... they will more
than likely just move your 6 week check-up up a few days and see you a
little earlier :) but it would put your mind at rest.

Hi! I had exactly the same thing happen to me. It turns out to be a hernia,
which I didn't expect, since I had a Lap RNY. Mine doesn't hurt at all, but
it is definitely rounded out and almost swollen. I'm now 16 months post-op
and have had this since about five months out or so. As long as it doesn't
hurt, and you're sure the vomiting is from trial and error eating, you can
probably wait until your next check-up, as long as it is coming up soon.
Good luck. Maria

I have the same exact thing!!!! The doctor said it's a hernia. I noticed
mine growing at 5 months post op, I'm 10 months out now and it's getting
worse. The only thing is that you just had you surgery so I think it will
be too soon to develop a hernia???? Have your Doc take a look at it just in
case.

It sounds like a hernia- I don't think it's too soon- I developed one a
month after a cesarian so it's possible. That may be your free ticket to a
tummy tuck from your insurance in the future.
