Question:
Has anyone ever been approved for any type of WLS under Union Insurance?

I am 19 years old and am seriously considering having WLS. I am a full time college student still under my parent's insurance, that being Local Union 330 Teamster's. I had a breast reduction when I was 16 years old and that was a big fight, but I was finally approved and then I had a second corrective surgery at 18. Needless to say, my insurance company hates me. Has anyone ever been approved under this insurance in the Chicago Land area? Is it even worth trying to fight it?    — Ginny F. (posted on April 13, 2002)

I don't have your insurance, but don't get the mindset that your insurance company hates you. Fight them tooth and nail...besides if you quality WLS is not cosmetic...it is medically necessary. Worse comes to worse, get the lawyer Mr. Lindstrom to help you fight. You deserve to be healthy. God Bless

I am the original poster on this question. Now at 8 months post-op and -108 lbs., I think it is kind of irrelevant!! :) Yes my surgery was covered, and everything went o.k. Now it's time to fight for the tummy tuck!
