Question:
I need to see the LAW that says we are covered for this surgery under our insurers?

I have 2 friends in VA - who need this surgery but their insurance comapnies are giving them a headache. I know there is a law in Virginia, but I can't put my finger on it someone said it was ona website - Can some one help me????? If you know, for a fact, that there is such a law covering morbid obesity in your State...call your state's insurance commission and ask for a written copy of the law.

I know Georgia is one of two states that have such a law. The information is in the WLS by Barbara Thompson. I think it was a east coast state that was the second one but I cant remember. I have this book but cound not find it readliy when I saw your post. I know you just have to be 100 pounds over weight and documented proof from a physician.
