Question:
My insurance is changing from Humana to Aetna what do I do for pre-existing condition
My employer is changing insirance companies from Humana PPO to Aetna PSO (Prudential) how do I fill out the pre-existing condition section of the paperwork? I have no surgery date but have been to a consultation w/ a surgeon. Can I just list I have been seen by my PCP and a specialist? — Holly B. (posted on October 2, 2001)

Get a letter from your previous insurance stating "credible
coverage" and that there has not been any breaks in your coverage.
This will combat the "pre-existing condition" section.

According to the Aetna chick I just talked to more than five mins ago,
Aetna has 15 blue million types of coverages so yours might not be the same
as mine. Call your employee rep. They can help you out.

I live in Texas and my Aetna kicked in yesterday. On my plan, aetna has no
pre-existing condition clauses. They take anything you've had in the past.
But like the other poster said,it's best to check w/ your policy as
they're
all different.

If I am not mistaken, If you go directly from one Insurance Group to
Another ie...Your employer changing plans and providers, the new insurance
cannot use that type of clause due to you being continuously covered prior
to the switch. "No Break in Coverage". That may not detract
from the fact that WLS, would not be a covered benefit. My best suggestion
would be to get a copy of the policy options prior to selecting the
specific plan. For me, The last to companies my employer picked, did not
offer this as a covered benefit. (Specifically excluded) We recently
swithced to Scott & White Insurance, which does cover the surgery, but
they have a long long process prior to the Surgery being scheduled. This
is well worth it to me, prior to this switch I did not have any option
except to self pay or TRC.......GOOD LUCK..
