Question:
Anyone had skin removed ankle to thigh in one surgery? Insurance allows only 1 nite!

My friend is having this skin removed on Friday and now the insurance is saying they'll only pay for one night in the hospital. I told her to check with her doctor asap. She would like to know if anyone else has had this done and what to expect??? Could they walk the next day to go home??? This sounds ridiculous. Who's been there?    — Sharon M. I worked 6 years doing medical review and they get their LOS (length of stay) criteria from guidelines. This means that typically a person having this surgery will stay 1 over night. If a person has unusual trouble, fever, vomiting unable to control pain,unable to take oral meds,then they will extend it, but make sure it is ok'd before staying or she might have to pay for it. Most people are up and about the day of surgery and this doesn't sound unusual.
