I had my first consult 2/20/02 with Dr. Cribbins (I agree with [email protected], he IS GORGEOUS!). I went there with all the research on the RNY bypass he does, but he stated he does two (Silastic Ring Gastroplasty). He explained in detail both procedures, and the risks associated with each. After thinking about both, I decided to have the Silastic Ring Gastroplasty. Dr. Cribbins office then got together the paperwork to send to my insurance (Aetna US Healthcare), which took about two months. Aetna DENIED me 5/02/02, so myself and my family physician quickly appealed the denial, which was MUCH QUICKER. I faxed the appeals info to Aetna (the office of the ombudsman)on 5/16/02, they walked it through, and it was approved the next day. Persistance pays off. And I have faith and am excited to have the surgery. Dr. Cribbins office and staff (especially Geri) were always helpful in the process. I am only awaiting my surgery date now.
