Well, it’s official! You’re on the losing side. The trumpets are blaring, the cymbals are crashing and the drums are drumming – all for YOU! I hope that all went well for you! You’ve been out of surgery now for a little over a month – YIPPIE!!! Your journey will have moments to “pause” – I’d like to impart some words of wisdom for when it does occur - remember these wise words whispered by Confucius – “It does not matter how slowly you go so long as you do not stop.” Be patient. You didn’t put it on over night, it won’t come off over night (DARN IT!)…Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly and take lots of pictures…the transformations will make your jaw drop!!! RNY 10/31/03 – down 114 pounds Good luck!

Congrats Sherry!! I just had my surgery on the 16 and I came home today. I'm a little bit sore, but I'm trying to get moving around to get my strength up.

The worst part was the trip home. I had a 4 hour drive home from the hospital and by the time I arrived my pain medicine was completely non-effective and I was extremely tired. A few hours of bed rest cured this and then I was fine. The best part was waking up and within an hour out of recovery I was asking to sit up on the side of my bed. I think it sorta stunned everyone that I was wanting up so soon. I remember the nurses asking me if I was sure I wanted to sit up this soon. I didn't have the pain that I expected to have when I woke up. I never asked what I had done to myself. I knew exactly what I had done and was all smiles about it when I woke up. I did have a couple of days where I was slightly uncomfortable but that was all. I was on a morphine pump the first 2 days then went to liguid pain medicine. I can't say enough good things about Dr. Beall and Dr. Becker (the Hospital Dr.). The visits from Debbie Knight (Dr. Bealls nurse) were so upbeat and encouraging I loved each of them. I was treated like a queen the entire time I was in the Hospital. The staff there is awesome! I can tell I have lost some weight already and it hasn't even been a full week since my surgery.
