I remember my Dad going through open heart surgery (8 yrs ago we moved from OC to Nor Cal to be close to him after that)!! He is doing well and so will your Mom! It's a long surgery and time stands still in the waiting room. Hold on to those you love and think good thoughts! My prayers are with you, your Mom and the entire family!! ((hugs))
